They refuse to be tied down or confined in any of their actions or decisions. They value freedom and creativity, but have the greatest desire to make a positive impact. When seeing if this archetype is a part of your target market, you need to ask yourself several questions!

  • Does My Target Market Use Creativity Regularly?
  • Is My Target Market Willing to take Risk?
  • Does My Target Market Fear Mediocrity?
  • Does My Target Market Value Authenticity?
  • Does My Target Market Fight for Change and Impact?

If you answer yes to most of these questions, your target market is likely to be The Creator. By looking in artistic industries, you will be able to find The Creator. With that said, The Archetype can exist anywhere, including executive positions.

When marketing to the creator, you need to understand what they value in advertising efforts, and on the contrary, what they dislike. Each archetype is different, and to ensure your success, you need to understand what they value in brand and marketing.

The Creator is one of the hardest archetypes to market to as they are often dissatisfied with conventional marketing, and want innovation and impact. With that said, innovation in marketing can be challenging. This is because there is a fine line between innovation that is well received, and innovation that isn’t. The Creator is more impacted by your brand you develop than the one off marketing you release.

Brands that are well perceived by The Creator are those that promise authenticity and ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking. The Creator does not support imitation as it takes away from the creation of others. With that said, The Creator is often brand loyal. This loyalty can be fostered by building a brand that is constantly innovating and creating long lasting impact.
